Your great-aunt Rosalind has left you a little cottage on Emberbrook Isle. The village is kind, the fields are green, and its Grand Hearth has been cold for thirty years. Settle in, learn a trade or fifteen, make friends, and bring the island back to life, one lantern at a time.

What's in the beta

A story to follow. The Ember Road is a prologue and seven chapters of cutscenes and quests. Relight the lighthouse, wake the sleeping grove and reopen the Glimmer Mine. Bring the five Hearthstones home and watch the village rebuild around you, with new buildings, shops, clothing and furniture as you go.

Fifteen professions.

• Gather: Herbalism, Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing.
• Craft: Cooking, Alchemy, Smithing, Tailoring, Jewelcrafting, Carpentry.
• Out and about: Hunting, Horse Riding, Bug Catching, Treasure Hunting.
• Farming, the newest.

Every profession has trainers, tools to upgrade and a full mastery track of rewards.

Your own farm. Till your field, sow seeds for the season and keep them watered (rain helps). Pick 12 kinds of crops, from turnips to glowing Starmelons. Expand with sprinklers, tonics and field deeds, or grow anything all year in the greenhouse.

Four seasons. Spring blossom, long summer evenings, amber autumn woods and snowy winters. Each season has its own fish, bugs and crops.

Festivals. The Blossom Picnic, the Lantern Night Derby, the Harvest Fair and the Starlight Gift Exchange. Each has its own contest, prizes and town-wide celebration.

Thirteen townsfolk with their own lives. They keep daily routines, chat with each other, sit in the Tipsy Kettle of an evening and have birthdays. Make friends with gifts and chats to unlock heart events: small, personal scenes where your answers matter.

Places to explore.

• The village, meadows, highlands, lake and coast.
• Interiors to step into: the Tipsy Kettle, Selene's tailoring shop, the Glimmer Mine and the Emberbrook Museum. Donate your finds to the museum and watch the collection grow.

And more: horse riding with tack and breeds, a bug collection, treasure maps and metal detectors, jobs from the trade masters, home decorating, and a cat called Admiral. You can pet him once a day. He insists.

Known beta limitations

• Performance in the busy village is lower than elsewhere; optimisation is ongoing.
• No voiced or "blip" dialogue sounds yet.
• Some art and animations are placeholders and will be polished.
• Balance (prices, skill pace, festival scores) is still being tuned.
